Diana Nduku Muthusi

Nduku Muthusi is a Research and Development Specialist and Head of Programs at Nala Center. She oversees a diverse portfolio of initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between scholarly inquiry and sustainable, community-centred development. With an interdisciplinary academic background in Cultural Anthropology, Sociology, and Political Science, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to addressing complex social and structural challenges within African contexts.

Her research experience spans climate adaptation mapping, archival research, and public library ecosystems. Her expertise includes research coordination, stakeholder engagement, qualitative research, data organisation, and the translation of research findings into actionable insights. She is experienced in navigating multidisciplinary research environments, coordinating programmes, and maintaining high standards of research documentation and institutional confidentiality.

Nduku is a VLIR-UOS Scholar and holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies from KU Leuven, Belgium. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa. A passionate advocate for social justice and equitable development, she is interested in research that deepens understanding of everyday social realities and informs inclusive, community-centred development across Africa.
