Barry Nkomo

Barry Nkomo, a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) graduate, currently working as an Independent Social Impact Assessment Consultant and having completed 20 years of service in various public and private organisations. Core expertise in Socio-Economic Impacts Assessments, Community Development, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic Planning, Risk Analysis, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation disciplines. He has acquired immense skills by participating in multi-disciplinary project teams across different sectors i.e. mining, energy and infrastructure development. As a UCT and WITS Alumni, He is an active participant in their respective alumni activities for academic development especially in traditional communities for access to skills development and capacity-building for sustainable development in vulnerable communities. Through academic and institutional public policy research and development his objective is to empower and transform the communities to foster innovative approach for development problems and agenda.
